Join to apply for the Teacher - K-6 role at Department of Education, Western Australia

We are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to year 6 (K-6) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Newborough Primary School (PS) became an Independent Public School in 2012. The school has had a proud history since it was founded in 1955. Newborough PS is a Positive Behaviour Wellbeing and Support School which promotes the behaviours of Respect, Teamwork, Kindness and Challenge Yourself. The school focuses on student well-being and the deliberate nurturing of a whole school community in its Business Plan. A range of programs are in place to support and develop the core values as outlined in the Western Australian Curriculum. Staff and parents have worked hard to develop an ethos that ensures that the school has a caring, supportive and family oriented environment.

The Role
Embark on a fulfilling journey in our team as we seek dedicated K-6 primary teachers with exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural ability to cultivate positive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. In our vibrant school community, we place a strong emphasis on values and a positive culture.
Join us in fostering a shared vision anchored in whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, and a commitment to professional growth. We celebrate innovation and leadership, encouraging educators to actively seek opportunities within our dynamic team. Educators with aspirations to take on leadership opportunities within the school would be highly desirable. Experience in implementing the whole school approach of Oxford Maths is highly desirable as is experience in PLD and Soundwaves. We are also embarking on a journey to introduce a whole school approach in Reading and Writing so experience in whole school approaches such as Talk for Reading and Talk for Writing would be beneficial as well as the willingness to share this expertise with others. Furthermore, experience in using Elastik would also be valuable.
Embrace a culture of accountability, where motivated educators are committed to delivering best practices, grounded in evidence-based decision-making and differentiation. Transparent classroom management and a willingness to adopt Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) contribute to our positive and supportive educational environment. If you are a passionate educator ready to contribute to a culture of positivity, innovation, and collaboration, we invite you to apply and become an integral part of our inspiring teaching team.
