About the Role
This role involves carrying out surface preparation and applying protective and decorative coatings across residential construction projects to achieve high-quality finishes in line with project specifications and Australian Standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare surfaces by sanding, patching, filling, cleaning, and priming
* Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
* Mix and match paints to achieve the required colours and finishes
* Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine materials and application methods
* Protect surrounding surfaces through masking and covering
* Inspect completed work and rectify any defects
* Ensure compliance with WHS requirements and Australian Standards
* Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
* Ensure coatings are applied in accordance with manufacturer specifications and relevant Australian Standards.
About You
* Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent (or relevant experience)
* Minimum 5 years of experience in residential painting
* Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
* Ability to read plans and follow specifications
* Reliable, organised, and able to work autonomously
* White Card required
