Service Delivery Officer (Technical Services Team)

The Development Assessment Branch assesses developments and undertakes investigations relating to planning, building, plumbing, and engineering. These Services are provided through 5 programs.

Part of the Planning Assessment and Technical Services program, and reporting to the Technical Services Coordinator, the Service Delivery Officer in the Technical Services Team is a truly unique opportunity.

As a Service Delivery Officer, you will provide support to a team of specialist planners and engineers who service a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.

Additionally, your role will include:

* Maintaining team inboxes, spreadsheets and calendars.
* Assisting with meeting and memo preparation, invoicing and Infrastructure Agreement processes, responses to customers, creating and completing Pathway tasks and customer requests, and recording and refining processes.
* Providing high quality customer service to internal and external customers as the first point of contact for the team including the completion of simple enquiries and written advice.
* Developing an exceptional understanding of the responsibilities and services that the team provides to direct enquiries and workload to the appropriate areas of the team or broader branch/Council.
* Preparing and checking infrastructure agreements for Stormwater Quality and Vegetation Clearing as directed by technical specialists in the team.
* Preparing invoices for funds secured through Stormwater Quality and Vegetation Clearing Infrastructure Agreements.
* Adding necessary inputs into registers and TechOne to support Infrastructure Agreement and invoicing processes.
* Assisting with administrative duties associated with the Development Engineering Undergraduate (DEU) Program.

You'll possess

* Strong customer service skills with the ability to act as technical expert who can translate complex information into simple concepts to facilitate customer understanding and manage expectations.
* A knowledge of the applicable legislation associated with the respective service area.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage and negotiate with members of the public and stakeholders.
* High level written communication skills to produce accurate, evidence-based correspondence and briefings.
* Knowledge of town planning is advantageous but not essential.
* Qualifications in Project Management and a high level of knowledge of the development industry is highly desirable.
* A Diploma of Local Government (Planning) or similar, to be considered for Level 5
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Planning or an equivalent qualification with knowledge of one or more of these specialist planning functions: urban design, CPTED, social, parks, emissions and/or environmental planning (bushfire, vegetation, ecology, biodiversity and waterways) or specialist engineering functions: environmental (acid sulcate soils, acoustics, air quality and waterway management), hydraulic, traffic, transport and stormwater) to be considered for Level 6.
