**About the Team**
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) Case Management Branch manages all external review.
**About the Role**
The EL1 Assistant Director Case Management is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) functions of the Agency.
The position is an important team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the work area.
The focus is on resolving matters in a timely manner and, where reasonably possible, without a need to progress to an AAT hearing.
The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the Agency to advance the Agency's interests across a range of forums.
**Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:
- Undertaking case management of highly complex AAT matters and analysing to develop recommendations for early resolution.
- Obtaining necessary information and advice to effectively resolve AAT matters.
- Attending Case Conferences, Conciliation, Hearings conducted by the AAT.
- Preparing documents detailing resolution options and outcomes at Case Management meetings, Assessing and responding to priority and risks, including risk to the participant, Scheme sustainability and the Agency.
- Contributing to the preparation of reports, business cases, meeting submissions and correspondence.
- Preparing and maintaining electronic record keeping, including evidence supporting decision[1]making processes and justifying conclusions reached during the case management process.
- Leading and contributing to strategic projects and policy development processes.
- Leading development of and contribution to Ministerial and Parliamentary briefs.
- Leading a team and/or a scope of work, including mentoring, supervising, training and supporting junior Case Managers.
