Under limited direction of the Head, Photographs Film and Sound (PFS), the Manager of the PFS Production team leads a team of technical and creative practitioners. The team is charged with manufacturing, managing and preserving content from the National Collection as it is related to Australia's military history including event and object photography, still and moving image capture, 3D capture and print and digital asset delivery and oral history recording.
The job provides team leadership and development in a broad range of areas, including production coordination for public engagement, exhibitions, publications, web delivery and other programs as directed. The National Collection program includes collection development and digital asset management utilising contemporary digital and multimedia technology.
The Manager PFS Production contributes to corporate governance, manages budgets, represents the Memorial and liaises with internal and external stakeholders.

The key duties of the position include:
* Lead, mentor and develop staff.
* Provide strong technical capability and promote open communication and initiative within the PFS team and across curatorial and AWM workflows.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures ensuring best practice photographic and digital capture, for collection preservation, documentation and client delivery in a fast paced museum environment.
* Manage quality and timely delivery of digital and analogue production and preservation requirements aligned with sectional priorities, programs, budgets and business plans.
* Advise, develop and implement technical strategies as they relate to Memorial systems, platforms and workflows, and develop and apply standards for the care and preservation of the collection, facilities and equipment. Engage with vendors and suppliers; conduct and advise on procurement and asset management.
* Plan for current and future museum trends in digital capture and preservation capability as it relates to the Memorial's corporate objectives; represent the Memorial in relevant professional forums.
* Contribute to the development of the PFS strategic and business plan aligned with corporate priorities.
* Involvement in public engagement programs as aligns with business plans and corporate priorities. Engage with VIPs and high-level stakeholders as required.
* Prepare high level strategic documents, including management reports, papers and correspondence.
* Advise and report to the Head of PFS and other senior management on relevant matters as required.
* Perform functions and exercise responsibility associated with staff management, team development, workplace health and safety, including psychosocial safety, in accordance with Memorial policies and procedures including the Memorial's Values and Behaviours.
Eligibility
* Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
* All applicants external to AWM that are offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a National Police Check, even if they currently hold a security clearance. The check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
