Overview:
This is a senior leadership sales role requiring a strong background in the construction industry, ideally with technical or building products experience. The successful candidate will lead a team of 6 sales professionals within a small, family-oriented organisation that values a hands-on and collaborative leadership style rather than a highly corporate approach. The role involves contributing to the company's growth strategy, supporting a 2026 revenue target of $26M, and working closely with the MD. The position requires extensive national travel (80%+) with limited international travel of approximately 1–2 weeks per year, and is suited to people with relevant niche industry expertise and technical market knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee national sales initiatives, promotional campaigns and related activities to achieve agreed sales targets.
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with existing customers to secure repeat and long-term business.
Support Technical Sales Representatives in identifying, engaging and converting new business opportunities.
Collaborate with the sales team to plan and execute promotional activities, PTK seminars, trade shows and special events.
Represent the company at sales conferences, industry meetings, trade exhibitions and networking events.
Work with the sales team to identify market trends, customer needs and product gaps, and recommend opportunities for new product development.
Partner with the Managing Director to develop and implement future growth strategies and sales budgets.
Drive team performance by motivating and guiding Technical Sales Representatives to meet and exceed revenue targets through structured sales plans and reporting.
Travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand to support, develop and strengthen relationships with Technical Sales Representatives and distributors.
Develop and apply innovative sales strategies, techniques and tactics to achieve business objectives.
Oversee and coordinate the development, launch and promotion of new and existing products.
Analyse and understand client requirements to deliver tailored and effective sales solutions.
Respond to and resolve customer queries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
Plan, manage and deliver the Australia Sales Meeting.
Recruit, onboard, train and mentor Technical Sales Representatives to ensure strong daily performance and consistent achievement of sales targets.
Ideal Expert Summary:
Demonstrated successful track record in sales management and achieving commercial outcomes.
Minimum five years of sales experience within the construction industry, with tile or related product experience highly regarded.
Strong understanding of construction methods, industry standards and market practices.
Membership or active involvement in relevant Construction and Industry associations is preferred.
Valid driver's licence with a clean and responsible driving record.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 kg.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
High level of overall computer literacy and comfort using business systems and digital tools.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, maintaining a positive, professional and cooperative attitude with colleagues and customers.
Proven personal sales capability with a strong history of delivering individual sales results.
Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate, influence and guide team performance.
