OPERATIONS & CONTRACTS MANAGER (This role is not for everyone. That's intentional.)
We're not looking for an administrator. We're looking for an operator.
Someone who can manage people, systems, purchasing, logistics and contracts — and keep the entire DCS operation structured, accountable and moving forward.
If you are commercially aware, operationally disciplined, and comfortable managing both detail and responsibility — keep reading.
The Kind of Person Who Succeeds Here
You are:
* Highly organised and structured in how you manage workflow
* Commercially minded and aware of margin, cost control and cash flow
* Confident leading internal teams and holding standards
* Comfortable working within Defence, NT Government and national contract frameworks
* Calm under pressure and able to prioritise competing demands
* Building systems that run properly
* Managing sales coordination, purchasing and logistics without chaos
* Creating accountability across administration and warehouse teams
* Owning contracts end-to-end — not just administering them
* Solving operational problems before they escape
You don't need constant direction. You don't need excessive meetings. You need clear authority and responsibility.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Dynamic Catering Solutions, a leading supplier of commercial catering equipment in the Northern Territory.
This role has broad ownership and includes:
* Managing and leading the Sales Coordinator function, ensuring quotations, CRM activity and follow-ups are completed accurately and on time
* Overseeing purchasing to ensure supplier pricing, margins and stock levels are controlled
* Managing logistics and warehouse operations, including stock receipting, dispatch, freight coordination and inventory accuracy
* Ensuring showroom and equipment sales processes align with company procedures and financial targets
* Leading administration processes to ensure compliance, documentation and invoicing standards are maintained
* Managing operational performance across sales, procurement and delivery
Interstate applicants will be considered to work remotely, for the right candidate.
Contracts & Government Responsibilities
In addition to internal operations, this role will act as Contracts Manager for:
* Defence contracts
* NT Government contracts
* National supply and installation contracts
This includes:
* Ensuring compliance with tender specifications and contractual requirements
* Managing variations, scope control and documentation
* Overseeing reporting and submission requirements
* Coordinating internal teams and subcontractors to meet delivery timeframes
* Protecting margin and ensuring commercial discipline across projects
This is not just a sales support role. It is an operational leadership role within the DCS business.
What You Must Bring
To be successful, you will need:
* Demonstrated experience managing operations within a sales, supply or project-based business
* Strong understanding of purchasing, logistics and inventory control
* Experience working with Defence, Government or structured contract environments
* Commercial awareness with the ability to manage margin and cost control
* Confidence leading administration, warehouse and coordination teams
* The ability to manage multiple work streams without losing control of detail
Who This Role Is Not For
This role will not suit you if you:
* Avoid accountability or decision-making
* Prefer a narrow administration role
* Struggle with structure, systems or financial oversight
* Dislike enforcing standards across teams
* Need constant supervision
We move quickly, but we do things properly. Integrity, discipline and follow-through are non-negotiable.
The Environment
You'll be part of a professional, locally owned business that:
* Is 100% Territory owned and operated
* Works across commercial, government and Defence sectors
* Values structure, accountability and customer service
* Expects high standards — and supports people who meet them
