Overview
Senior Automation Systems Engineer to start in Wagga Wagga, Australia, to support Australian client sites for a growing Current Zealand automation systems integration company. The role requires experience programming in PLC, HMI, and SCADA, with PLC code development experience in the food and beverage industries. You would be working for customers providing automation solutions for new project development in the food and beverage industry.
You will be passionate about supporting automation systems through the use of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA, and you will need to lead projects through design, development, and deployment of new products for manufacturing and process automation solutions. You should be fully conversant with a range of electrical procedures in factory automation—design, programming, commissioning, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, and research and development.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and deployment of automation solutions for manufacturing and process industries.
- Program and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems across multiple platforms.
- Support and troubleshoot automation systems in food and beverage environments.
- Collaborate with customers on project development and deliverables.
Qualifications
1. A degree with Mechatronics or related field OR 4+ years of experience as a full-time Automation Engineer supporting systems and delivering projects requiring PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming.
2. Excellent spoken communication skills.
3. Experience with PLC code development in food and beverage technologies.
4. Engineering skills with Schneider, Allen Bradley, and Siemens PLCs.
5. Experience with HMI systems development including Wonderware System Platform, Ignition, IFIX, FTViewSE, and WinCC.
6. Experience developing PLC systems from technical specifications starting from scratch.
