We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to support us in providing consultancy support to our managers and site safety personnel. The position will be based out of our office in Rockdale, NSW. This is a long-term project with the potential to extend, and you have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of sites including the most iconic structures in Sydney.
About the role
You will promote continuous improvement and compliance for the health and safety functions of ConnectSydney and the Sydney Road Assets Performance (SRAP) Contract, Harbour Zone.
Key responsibilities include:
* Advising our management team on health, safety and wellbeing concepts and collaborating with TfNSW on implementing safe, caring and reliable HSEQ practices.
* Implementing an effective safety auditing program to provide assurance of regulatory compliance and maintaining currency of all associated documentation.
* Assessing subcontractor HSE submissions, leading onboarding meetings and SWMS reviews, and conducting initial site surveillance.
* Overseeing and participating in inductions, training, toolbox meetings, investigations, monitor and review contractor safety procedures.
* Overseeing incident investigations to meet internal and regulatory timeframes.
* Ensuring compliance and recertification audits are scheduled and conducted in a timely manner.
* Producing safety related business cases/cost proposals for the upcoming forward works program.
* Managing the WHS budget and proposing new annual budgets with justification for the upcoming year.
About you
You will be a highly motivated and outcome driven individual who has a passion for delivering positive client outcomes, and a knack for effective stakeholder engagement.
You will also have:
* Tertiary qualification and relevant industry experience working as a Health and Safety Manager (maintenance or construction background is highly desirable).
* Auditor qualifications in OHS, Environment & Quality discipline.
* OFSC experience and knowledge is desirable.
* Experience with ISO45001 principles is desirable.
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.
