Job Summary
Provide knowledge, expertise, input, training, and consultative support for a discipline or process required for facility commissioning and startup. Participate in work planning and packaging, turnover coordination, material management and quantities, quality control, and environmental safety and health. Serve as an essential resource for specialized technical advice on a 2‐1 FIFO roster at the Karratha, WA site.

Responsibilities
- Lead support of basic Startup Specialist duties for installation configuration validation and work package development.
- Ensure technical direction to subcontractors completing commissioning & startup (CSU) activities, field inspections, and quantity tracking.
- Plan and schedule CSU execution activities including sequence and resource requirements.
- Prepare Startup Work Packages and Test Work Packages for assigned areas.
- Participate in construction to CSU turnover walk‐downs and coordinate with the Field Engineer.
- Initiate requisitions for field purchases and prepare quantity take‐offs of field‐purchased material and equipment.
- Track field purchases and other purchases required for CSU using procurement systems or other database programs.
- Perform walk‐downs to validate system configuration against design, monitor testing of equipment, and ensure conformance with specifications and test procedures.
- Identify and resolve/elevate ES&H issues in the field, promoting safe ES&H practices.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of startup, operations, or maintenance for a project.
- Assist with the preparation of operations manuals and project administrative documents.
- Coordinate startup between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors.
- Assume a lead role over other engineers for specific tasks and may direct overall startup activities on specific assignments.
- Train assigned personnel and assist in their professional development.
- Apply technical knowledge of startup, operation, maintenance, or testing, and understand engineering systems and relevant applications.
- Apply industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to plant or equipment operations.
- Communicate orally and in writing, planning and coordinating independent work requiring judgment and experience.
- Provide startup, maintenance, operation, or testing direction to subordinate senior startup engineers, engineers, technicians, or crafts.
