Overview
Flamboyance Tours is looking for a tour guide ready to show visitors around Adelaide on foot. This award-winning company provides Adelaide walking tours to guests from around the world, exploring the city’s history, culture, and heritage. The role involves interacting with guests to deliver an unforgettable travel experience, leading visitors to city landmarks, providing personal recommendations, and encouraging interaction, with a focus on compelling storytelling.
Areas such as the Adelaide Central Market, Adelaide Arcade and Adelaide Town Hall will be your office. This is an ongoing casual position with 1-2 shifts on average each week, with weekday availability required. There will be occasions where availability is requested well in advance, working as a team to bring stories to life for groups. This role is suitable for those seeking additional work or a meaningful way to be an ambassador for Adelaide.
Responsibilities
- Interact with guests to provide an engaging walking tour of Adelaide.
- Lead visitors to landmarks and offer personal recommendations.
- Tell compelling stories to shape positive experiences for groups.
- Utilize training from the owner/guide to build city knowledge while adding your own flair.
- Represent tours at locations such as Adelaide Central Market, Adelaide Arcade, and Adelaide Town Hall.
What we’re looking for / Qualifications
- Tour guiding experience or study is preferred, but not essential.
- Effective storytelling through clear speaking and expression.
- A willingness to learn and retain information.
- Presence suitable for social media content.
- Flexibility in the working week, with the ability to take on shifts in advance.
- Passion for Adelaide and everything about it.
