Job Summary
Applications are invited for a Urologist to join the team at Townsville University Hospital (TUH), a major tertiary referral centre with over 600 beds. TUH offers comprehensive services including intensive care, interventional radiology, PET scanning, radiation oncology, and a full suite of surgical and medical specialties.
The successful applicant will be proficient across all aspects of general urology. The department manages a high clinical workload, performing more than 600 operations and 500 outpatient procedures annually. It is fully equipped for both open and laparoscopic surgery and comprises a team-oriented team including one Staff Consultant, two Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), one SET Urology Trainee, five Principal House Officers, and three junior doctors.
TUH has recently partnered with Mater Hospital Pimlico to expand access to Robotic Assisted Surgery for both public and private patients.
Candidate Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or an equivalent recognised qualification eligible for specialist registration in Australia
- Proficiency in general urology, with interest or experience in robotic‑assisted surgery
- Commitment to teaching supervision, and multidisciplinary collaboration
