Job description
As a Porter, you will support the stores and facilities team, undertaking portering and manual handling of items around the hospital, including:
* Collecting and returning patients to their individual rooms, before and after surgery
* Ensuring that the theatre environment and its equipment are fully functioning
* Assisting with cleaning of the theatre environment and equipment
* Working in a fast‑moving clinical environment
* Maintaining constant and effective interaction with the theatre team
* Manual handling of items, support with refuge collection, medical gas movement and handling, and managing deliveries and stock
Good communication skills are essential to help patients feel relaxed and reassured. Successful applicants will also be happy to undergo Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
