Application Support Engineer – Deep Technical Expertise - FinTech

The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Application Support Engineer with strong backend technical depth and hands‐on production experience to join our client. This role is critical for resolving complex technical issues, performing deep‐dive investigations at the backend level, and implementing technical fixes within live systems. You will take end‐to‐end technical ownership of tickets, working closely with engineering on code‐level solutions, and contribute to improving processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct exposure to and work within production environments, providing troubleshooting assistance and conducting in‐depth investigations.
* Perform API‐level debugging and patching in live systems to resolve complex technical issues.
* Read backend code to understand and identify root causes of application, API, database, and integration problems.
* Execute production database fixes and data corrections.
* Take end‐to‐end technical ownership of tickets with minimal escalation, ensuring issues are not just identified and reproduced, but actively investigated and resolved at a technical level.
* Collaborate closely with engineering teams on code‐level solutions and contribute to the development of adjacent processes such as incident response.
* Develop and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and improve ticket management processes.
* Report on key metrics, including Mean Time To Resolve (MTTR) and frequency of occurrence.
What We're Looking For:
* 3+ years of experience in technical support roles with proven technical problem‐solving abilities.
* Strong proficiency with SQL for data analysis and investigation, including querying relational databases.
* Familiarity with .Net/C# and the ability to read code and execute simple code changes.
* Experience with log analysis tools such as Datadog.
* Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* A proactive team player who can also work independently to get things done.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document complex information clearly.
