* To lead the Department's strategic financial objectives by developing, implementing and monitoring business needs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee governance and risk management to ensure high standards are met, monitor and enhance accounting practices, standards and systems.
* Develop financial plans, link budget allocation with financial planning and manage commercial services to support decision making and risk management.
* Act as Chief Finance Officer, ensuring corporate governance requirements and risk management standards are met.
* Establish effective partnerships with key stakeholders at state and national levels.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Knowledge of financial management systems and reporting to enable effective monitoring of financial systems in schools.
* Ability to identify trends and emerging issues that may impact on the Department's performance and reform opportunities.
