About the Role
The Fleet Planning Manager plays a critical role in supporting the strategic and operational performance of the fleet across Australia and New Zealand. This position is responsible for delivering high quality analysis that informs fleet planning, acquisition strategies, rotation decisions, and remarketing outcomes. By leveraging data to generate actionable insights, the role ensures the business maintains an optimised, cost‐efficient, and commercially aligned fleet profile.
Responsibilities
* Provide cost and financial analysis of fleet and ensure integrity of data used to forecast overall fleet carrying costs. Prepare fleet tender holding cost modelling and recommendations for the business.
* Prepare fleet depreciation analysis on a quarterly basis and provide recommendations for changes to ensure fleet is depreciating at the optimal rate. Assist in building local depreciation models to anticipate adjustment ahead of time.
* Monitor all fleet usage and contributions, communicating to stakeholders recommended course of actions for improvements in EPU (EBIDA per unit).
* Prepare fleet plans across APAC and provide recommendations for rotation and One‐way flow. Work closely with the revenue team ensuring national and regional days forecasts are accurate and achievable and provide recommendation for adjustments when needed.
* Prepare all monthly fleet forecast documents for AU and NZ, including acquisitions, on‐road costs, maintenance, repair, transport and remarketing; ensuring justification for any variations to forecast and business plan are explained and communicated to the business.
* Execute ad‐hoc fleet analysis and data requests from the business, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
* Lead and consolidate reporting across fleet and maintenance in AU and NZ. Utilising AI, SQL, Databricks, Tableau and other reporting tools to provide meaningful and actionable reporting for the region.
* Oversee the building of new Tableau reports.
* Prepare offshore fleet reporting and presentations for the APAC region, ensuring leaders and stakeholders have clear visibility of fleet performance, trends, and emerging issues.
* Maintain and prepare a suite of key fleet reports, such as Fleet Contribution, New Car Industry data, Brand Allocation, and fleet related costs and performance. Provide insights and recommendations that help the business achieve its monthly and annual operational and financial targets.
* Communicate processes and fleet updates to the business via Hub Updates, training sessions.
* Lead the newly created long‐term rental products for the business, including franchise leases, Thrifty subscription, Hertz multi‐month and TNC rentals. Provide end‐to‐end leadership, overseeing all departments as the products are launched and grown.
* Lead the telematics project for the region, coordinating with global and local OEMs for the APAC launch.
* Support the fleet department in other specific projects such as direct parts, car sales platform, install portal and purchase order automation.
* Work with IT solutions manager and Dev Ops to develop and maintain automation of processes in the fleet department, focusing on registration renewals, purchase order automation, transfer car booking automation and CMS/RMS restriction automation.
About You
* Graduate from a business school and/or university, qualification in mathematics, business studies, supply chain, accountancy or similar.
* At least 7 years' experience in an analytical/planning position, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
* Experience in a similar industry is preferred.
* Experience with Microsoft Excel, SQL and AI tools.
* Track record of working to tight deadlines, analysing and amalgamating large and complex streams of data, and ability to communicate to all levels.
* Can make thorough analysis of alternative solutions to a problem. Comfortable with numbers and financials.
* Displays a high level of purposeful activity at work while showing stability in stressful situations or when under pressure or being opposed.
