Painter / FinisherOur prestigious, manufacturing client within the Marine and Luxury Yacht industry, are currently seeking a Painter / Finisher to join their team.This is a full time, permanent position, based in Wroxham.Knowledge, Skills, Experience and QualificationsGood working knowledge of painting and varnishing procedures.Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations.Experience working with wood including wood repairsWorking in a team when doing large scale jobs, spraying yacht interiors, sanding, and antifouling hulls, working independently on smaller tasks such as varnishing joinery componentsAttention to detail in all areas, having a keen eye, right-first-time approach and ensuring work passes rigorous quality control inspections.Experience in spraying paint/varnish on cabinetry kitchens, bathrooms, furniture (ideally 5+ years, time-served)Wide experience in French Polishing techniquesSmart repair experience desirable but not essential.Marine experience desirable but not essential.As the Painter / Finisher you will be working to a high standard hand finishing cabinetry in excellent working conditions.Key Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare for finishing, filling, masking and sanding timber and GRP with a range for different grit wet or dry paper, using orbital sanders.
Block and hand sanding in acute areas.French Polishing to and repairs to finished cabins and other boat furniture.Hand applying finishes on solid and veneered timber products - using water-based lacquers, paints and hard wax oils.Working daily with many solid hardwoods and veneered timber products, offering a range of different varnished finishes.Occasional spraying on timber and GRP – using Polyurethane and Epoxy paint systems.Carrying out smart repairs where necessary – using Konig smart repair system.Health and safety, ensuring the correct PPE is being used when working, and understanding of paint system's requirements.Occasional external painting of hulls for anti-fouling and deck superstructure finishing.For further details of this exciting opportunity please forward a copy of your CV today
