As a Bid Estimator at AVTEL, you will be at the forefront of our project bidding process, playing a crucial role in securing high-value and complex bids. This position is integral to our operations, ensuring that we maintain our competitive edge in the marketplace through meticulous pricing and take-offs for a diverse range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Site Surveys: Conduct comprehensive site surveys to gather detailed information and expand client briefs, enabling the creation of accurate and compelling bids.
* Process Management: Develop and implement standardized processes to efficiently manage a high volume of bids, ensuring consistency and quality in every proposal.
* Supplier Communication: Engage with suppliers and sub-contractors across Europe, Asia, and the US to negotiate the best pricing and terms, fostering strong relationships that benefit AVTEL.
* Bid Coordination: Lead and participate in group-wide bid processes, collaborating closely with the lead salesperson and other team members to establish key priorities and drive successful outcomes.
* Detailed Take-Offs: Perform precise take-offs and measurements for all aspects of security projects, ensuring that every bid inquiry is met with a thorough and effective response.
* Sales Meetings: Actively participate in sales meetings to set priorities, provide insights, and assist team members in maintaining momentum throughout the bid process.
* Global Collaboration: Work closely with other AVTEL Group entities in Asia to create bids for global customers, leveraging our international presence to deliver exceptional solutions.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a dynamic and hands‑on professional with a strong background in bid estimation, technical design, or pre‑sales—ideally within the security, construction, or ICT sectors. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of relevant experience with a proven ability to manage complex, multi‑regional bids. A solid understanding of system integration design and pricing is essential, along with excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Skills & Experience Required
* Three to five years of proven experience in bid estimation, technical design, or pre‑sales roles in electronic security, construction, ICT, or related industries.
* Bid Management: Demonstrated ability to put together large, complex and multi‑disciplinary bids.
* Technical Expertise: Strong technical understanding of design solutions and pricing in a systems integration context. Knowledge of Integrated Electronic Security Systems like CCTVs, Alarm Systems, etc.
* Lenel Access Control: A strong knowledge of Lenel hardware and software configurations.
* CCTV: Knowledge of both IP and analogue CCTV systems including the use of network video recorders and software.
* Integrated Systems: Experience with major integrated Access Control/CCTV/Intruder systems/Perimeter detection systems that are fully integrated.
* Intruder Alarms: Basic competency in measurement and pricing intruder alarms.
* Service: You will have a good working knowledge of service in the security industry and shall be able to price various service solutions.
* Working knowledge of pricing jobs in the international market especially EMEA and APAC regions.
* Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), SharePoint, and bid portals.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
* ERP/CRM Systems: Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/CRM systems is desirable.
* Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a global, cross‑functional team.
