About the role
Reporting to the Solutions Team Project Management Office, the Solutions Consultant is responsible for delivering a wide range of solution engagements within the Microsoft & Solutions Team. This role provides subject matter expertise in Cloud Infrastructure and Modern Work solutions for the OneStep Group.
This position is a hands-on delivery role where the consultant will work closely with clients and prospective clients to deliver solutions as defined within the catalogue of offerings and following defined and approved methodologies and a clearly documented engagement scope.
Key Responsibilities
* Client Engagement and Solution Delivery:
* Deliver solutions engagements to client satisfaction.
* Follow defined and documented solutions methodologies.
* Assist with end-to-end delivery of client solutions including pre-sales architecture discussions, design, implementation, documentation, and handover.
* Be the voice of the customer, ensuring that solutions fit customer requirements, and address business requirements.
* Work with client stakeholders in a collaborative and professional manner, to capture requirements, run client workshops and assist sales in articulating product solutions and the value they can bring to the client.
* Model the OneStep values in everything we do.
* Bring an enthusiastic and curious approach to customer relationships, with the aim of becoming a trusted advisor to the client.
Technical Expertise and Implementation
* Familiarity with the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework, and how to apply its principles to new and existing deployments, to ensure that the customer is aligned to industry best practice.
* Strong skills in Microsoft Azure, with a particular focus on Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and Modern Work.
* A strong understanding in how to realise value from existing Microsoft Azure and AWS environments, particularly in the areas of cost management, monitoring, environment right sizing and performance.
* Demonstrated ability to implement Cloud technologies, (Azure IaaS, Azure SaaS, Azure Migrate, Azure Monitor) as well as the ability to work with teams to migrate existing platforms into Cloud environments.
* Implement Information Security Technologies: Content Security, Endpoint Security, MDM, SIEM.
* Undertake Vulnerability Assessments and Technical Auditing including Azure Secure Score, Azure Policies, Purview Compliance.
* A strong understanding of Azure Local and the benefits it provides to clients who may be hesitant to commit to the cloud, or looking to modernize their on premise infrastructure stack.
* Provide technical inputs into business development including attending customer scoping meetings.
* Achieve and maintain Vendor Certifications and Accreditation where required.
Team Development and Continuous Improvement
* Develop and support technical consultants in areas outside their scope.
* Support the sales team on product demonstrations, proposals, documentation, and designs.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team including process optimizations and enhancements.
* Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Project Management
* Manage work and project time, potentially across multiple projects.
* Ensure projects meet targets and deadlines.
* Monitor IT technology trends and requirements such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have developed an exposure to solutions development, documentation, assessment and should bring a degree of Subject Matter Expertise in their area.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field or the equivalent industry experience.
* Professional certifications in Azure:
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
* Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate are highly desirable.
* Professional certifications in Microsoft 365:
* Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
* Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert are highly desirable
* A minimum of 10 years' experience in the Technology sector, either within Infrastructure, Networking, Cloud, Security or Operational Technology.
* Proven experience in designing and implementing Azure solutions.
* Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, Azure services, and architecture best practices.
* Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
* Knowledge of networking, security, and identity management in Azure.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Security Clearances required for the role.
Preferred Skills and Experience
* Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
* Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git).
* Familiarity with other cloud platforms and Hybrid Cloud (AWS, Google Cloud).
* Experience in database management and data analytics services in Azure.
* Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to cloud computing.
* Experience with SOE and Jumpost environments
Consulting Experience and Stakeholder engagement
* Exceptional communications skills, including engaging with internal teams, vendors and customers.
* Product knowledge - sound general knowledge of Microsoft/Telstra (or similar) products and services.
* Ability to meet targets and deadlines.
* Ability to convey clear and quality advice based on technical knowledge.
