Community Support Worker
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team in Launceston. As a key member of our Communities for Children program, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based programs that strengthen parenting skills, build resilience, and foster positive relationships between children and their caregivers.
* You will deliver group workshops, life skills programs, and therapeutic activities for children and families, promoting healthy development, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
* Coordinate and complete program administration, including data entry, reporting, and maintaining accurate case notes.
* Facilitate structured programs for children and families, ensuring participants complete all required sessions and meeting service delivery targets.
* Engage with schools, community service organisations, child health providers, and family learning centres to build relationships and promote the service.
* Organise venues, resources, and materials for program delivery, adhering to operational requirements.
* Collect evaluation data and feedback to support program monitoring and improvement.
About You
* You have relevant qualifications in Community Services or Children's Services and experience in youth and family work, preferably with confidence in facilitating group sessions.
* You possess a positive, person-centred approach with a holistic view of family and child wellbeing, able to work autonomously and manage time effectively within part-time hours.
* You have strong community engagement skills, ability to network effectively, and local knowledge of community services and established connections within the Launceston area.
* You are equipped with practical problem-solving skills, including finding suitable spaces for program delivery and managing logistical challenges.
