Purpose of the Position
The primary purpose of this role is to assist in preparing accurate, complete, and timely financial data, reconciliations, and program acquittals to support Institute-wide financial reporting, revenue assessment, budgeting, forecasting, and internal management reporting. The role is operational and execution-focused, supporting higher-level analysis, interpretation, and decision-making undertaken elsewhere in the Finance function.
Duties
* Assist in preparing program and project financial acquittals in accordance with approved funding agreements, Finance templates, and procedures.
* Assist in reconciling acquittals to the general ledger and supporting records.
* Assist in preparing revenue and financial reconciliation schedules to support month‐end and year‐end financial reporting processes.
* Assist with the preparation of supporting information for revenue assessment and revenue‐related journals.
* Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly budget reviews.
* Assist in preparing financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting data for internal reporting, audits, budget monitoring, and forecasting activities.
* Assist in gathering accurate and timely financial data to support internal reporting, budget monitoring, and forecasting activities.
* Assist in providing financial working papers and supporting documentation to assist with internal and external audit reviews.
* Use financial systems in accordance with approved controls, procedures, and delegations.
* Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager.

* Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all educational levels.

* Demonstrated initiative and managing workload priorities.
* Prior experience in preparing financial acquittals and reconciliations is desirable.
* Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles, financial controls, and the importance of accuracy and completeness in financial data used for reporting, audit, and review purposes.
* Prior experience in financial data preparation and reporting support is desirable.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
