The role involves managing complex energy, transport, water, and climate risk projects, providing specialist advice, and driving sustainable practices across sectors, businesses, and government agencies.Experience in business development activities with new and existing clientsManaging and collaborating on sustainability projects from inception to completionExcellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to build and manage client relationships internally and externallyWork closely with teams across Mott MacDonald (locally and interstate)Developing and mentoring team members to grow their technical expertiseConducting sustainability, carbon, and climate resilience assessments and developing strategies, action plans, and initiatives for government and private sectorsAbout YouBachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or similarExperience in sustainability consulting and advisory roles for government, private sector, and infrastructure projects, including sustainability reporting at corporate and project levelsProven ability to develop and write high-quality technical content such as proposals, reports, assessments, and advice notesKnowledge of infrastructure sustainability projects is preferred but not essentialGood understanding of carbon and climate change issues, with the ability to interpret and present complex information clearlyPractical experience with sustainability standards and reporting frameworks (IFRS, SDGs, SBTI, GHG Accounting, ISC, etc.)Culture & BenefitsMott MacDonald values diversity and inclusion, offering a supportive environment that promotes work-life balance, diversity, inclusion, and equity.
