This is a fifteen (15) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency. Butler College opened in January 2013 as an inclusive public school for secondary students in Perth's northern suburbs. The Role As a Program Coordinator - Senior Secondary Pathways, you would work collaboratively with the Principal and members of the leadership team to provide educational leadership within the school and the community. You should promote and implement the school's vision and encourage school staff, volunteers, and community members to share ownership of the school's vision and goals As Program Coordinator – Senior Secondary Pathways, you would provide direction and purpose to the whole College and build capacity and cohesion amongst staff within the Vocational Education and senior secondary pathways portfolio. As a member of the College’s Leadership Team you would be expected to make valuable contributions to the College’s Strategic Plan and participate in decision making. The successful applicant would promote the college vision and strategic direction and implement policies and programs, working alongside school leaders, teachers and other members of the college community. Ideally, as a Program Coordinator you would display exemplary teaching, learning and behaviour management practices. Strong knowledge of the Department of Education’s Teaching for Impact documentation and Vocational Education and Training policies are highly advantageous to ensure our teaching and learning program is meeting the varied and complex needs of our students. You should have highly efficient communication skills and be able to collaborate effectively with others to sustain a professional team culture whereby staff feel supported to share and model best practice. Being a dedicated, highly competent, and enthusiastic leader, The Program Coordinator – Senior Secondary Pathways, should have excellent knowledge and understanding of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA), vocational education and School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) policy and procedures. The successful applicant would ensure that VET pathways for students are developed, endorsed, and implemented successfully, allowing students to thrive and achieve WACE. This will ideally be achieved by working closely and collaboratively with the school executive, registered training organisations (RTO)’s, students, staff, parents, tertiary training providers, industry partners and other stakeholders. As Program Coordinator – Senior Secondary Pathways, you should display an ability to build capacity in staff using a variety of development and coaching methods. The successful applicant would undertake reflective performance development discussions adhering to the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) standards and provide guidance to ensure a consistent high level of performance is occurring, whilst be able to reflect and assess the effectiveness of each team member.
