About The Role Contract type:

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering & Construction team, supporting the delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning.
What You Will Be Doing Provide mechanical design leadership across multiple project phases, ensuring designs are technically robust, compliant with Australian standards, and aligned with project requirements.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, supporting design coordination, construction activities, and commissioning to ensure successful project outcomes.
Play a key role in reviewing designs, managing vendor and subcontractor inputs, and supporting site‑based engineering activities, ensuring quality, safety, and performance expectations are consistently met.
Qualifications and Experience
Mechanical Engineering degree with 5+ years of design experience (including Australian water projects)
Strong capability in P&IDs, mechanical layouts, and equipment selection
Strong capability across design, construction, and commissioning of pipelines, pump stations, or treatment systems
Experience working within highly regulated environments (WSA, Australian Standards, client specifications)
Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and vendors
Experience contributing to HAZOP / Safety in Design and risk‑based engineering decisions
Highly regarded: Chartered / NER / RPEQ and experience supporting FAT/SAT and vendor management
Desired Characteristics Experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in the design and delivery of water or wastewater infrastructure projects. Detail‑oriented, commercially aware, and capable of balancing technical requirements with project timelines and constraints.
