Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

The Role

We're looking for a skilled and safety-focused Reliability Engineering Supervisor to help power our mining operations by ensuring equipment runs at peak performance. This role plays a vital part in reducing unplanned downtime, maximizing throughput, and upholding the highest safety standards in continuous production environments.


Your Key Responsibilities

In this leadership role, you will:

* Monitor and analyse equipment performance to maintain operational reliability

* Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols in all reliability-related work

* Oversee routine maintenance, inspections, and calibration of key mining assets

* Track and report on reliability metrics, identifying trends and opportunities

* Lead root cause analysis and troubleshoot process or equipment issues

* Collaborate closely with maintenance and operations to coordinate timely repairs

* Plan and execute reliability improvement tasks with a proactive mindset

* Coach and train team members in reliability standards and safety procedures

* Conduct field inspections to detect and prevent equipment failures early

* Assess operational risks, implement mitigation plans, and maintain ongoing vigilance


What We're Looking For

You are a strong technical leader with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset and the ability to influence outcomes across teams. You'll bring:

* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
* Proven experience in process safety management, mechanical systems monitoring, preventive maintenance, and safety auditing
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, communicate, and resolve conflict effectively
* Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams
* Advanced understanding of engineering standards, process safety systems, and risk management strategies
* Proficiency in data reporting, reliability metrics, and the application of industry best practices
