Procurement Specialist
We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Mawson Lakes.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing duties associated with the on-boarding of suppliers, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), quoting, negotiation, selection, awarding and purchase order placement of indirect, production and aftermarket product, services, tooling, supplies or services in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, and specific contract requirements.
In addition, you will:
* Prepare Firm-Fixed Price (FFP), Not-to-Exceed (NTE) and Rough order of Magnitude (ROM) pricing for the Commonwealth
* Monitor commodity pricing, technological developments and general business trends
* Investigate potential suppliers for the supply of direct parts and repair services
* Identify and action shortfalls in supplier base to support commodity requirements
* Administer all supplier export and import requirements, including as required customs clearance (either directly or via a third party service provider)
* Expedite quotes and orders from suppliers to ensure delivery, quality and corporate KPIs are achieved
* Evaluate technical drawings to determine suitable suppliers and initiate generation of supplier RFQ's in ERP-Oracle isupplier
* Evaluate repair quotes and teardown reports
* Evaluate/award quotations received from suppliers ensuring Corporate requirements are satisfied
* Manage supplier performance and drive resolution where required
* Investigate and ensure prompt processing of supplier issues
* Ensure all Trade Compliance requirements are considered and addressed in a timely manner
* Receipt of procurement requests (either via Oracle or Indirect Requisition)
* Convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders
* Generate weekly and monthly Supply Chain Management (SCM) reports and provide to the appropriate GDLS Project Manager
* Prepare import and export permits
* Provide administrative support for the GDLS-A Online Travel Booking System (CTM)
* Monitor Supply Chain Management (SCM) generic email inbox and distribute correspondence accordingly
Your skills and experience will include:
* Strong and accurate verbal and written communication skills
* Administering all affairs between GDLS and suppliers (subcontractors). Ability to take lead and drive discussions and problem resolution.
* Cost analysis of proposals, proposal fact-finding, proposal negotiations, including cost, terms and conditions (T&Cs), and scopes of work (SOWs).
* Expediting and shortage management.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
* Demonstrated experience dealing with export / import and trade compliance requirements
* Demonstrated use of initiative
* Demonstrated problem solving skills with an ability to think outside of square
* Ability to prioritise the workload and adapt to changing priorities
* Ability to gain and maintain an Australian Security Clearance
* Procurement experience with strong negotiation, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, preferably within the Defence industry
* High Level Degree, preferably in Business or Supply Chain Management. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
* Ability to read or learn technical drawings
* Experience using Oracle or other ERP database, preferred
* Experience within the defence or manufacturing industry, preferred
