We are committed to delivering high-quality solutions, and we are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Exploration Geologist to join our client's team.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an Exploration Geologist with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the exploration sector to assist with several exciting new projects in Queensland. You will play an integral role in all aspects of RC, Aircore, and Diamond Drilling programs. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team, dedicated to your ongoing training and professional development.
This position is based in Brisbane, and successful applicants must be Brisbane/Townsville/Cairns-based to be considered for our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct daily drilling activities and oversee field exploration tasks such as geological mapping, soil/rock sampling, core logging, trench sampling, and geological modelling.
* Supervise drill rigs as needed and ensure drilling programs are completed effectively.
* Perform QAQC analysis of laboratory results and proactively ensure optimal outcomes are achieved.
* Support environmental monitoring, rehabilitation activities, and remote camp setup and management.
* Assist with exploration project management and contribute to expanding AES's project footprint.
* Collaborate closely with clients to achieve exploration goals and maximize outcomes for both AES and client projects.
* Other tasks as required to support the team and clients.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
* A tertiary qualification in Geology (Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field).
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in the mineral exploration sector, with field-based roles in remote locations.
* Familiarity with mining software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Micromine is desirable.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities.
* Effective project management, time management, and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
* A passion for exploration and working outdoors in remote settings.
* Competence in 4WD driving, with a valid C class manual driver's license.
* A strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, with a focus on fostering a positive safety culture.
Desirable Attributes:
* Previous experience in remote mineral exploration, especially within Queensland.
* Ability to work autonomously and independently, with a focus on delivering results and meeting KPIs.
