Responsibilities
The Field Applications Specialist (FAS) for Hamilton Australia will provide application and technical support to customers for Hamilton products such as ML-600, Lab Elite, ML-Prep, ML-NIMBUS, ML-STAR, Vantage, and the Verso Q series within the Australian territory. There are three positions available, and ideal candidates will be located in Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney.
Develop application-specific protocols for Hamilton products by interpreting procedures provided by customers or the Hamilton Sales team.
Perform troubleshooting of application protocols and instrumentation.
Provide basic and advanced software and hardware training. Develop and deliver training materials for Hamilton Sales and Applications teams.
Create application-specific protocols for complex automated instrumentation, possibly integrating with third-party devices.
Demonstrate programming skills and software functions of liquid handling equipment.
Participate in and contribute to Factory and Site Acceptance Testing of instrumentation.
Contribute to the company knowledge base.
Support existing customers by providing additional application protocols, training, etc.
Understand customer expectations and plan work accordingly.
Document support work and customer visits in company databases or other formats.
Maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
Identify Field Service opportunities and communicate potential for future business to the FAS Director or Sales Team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
Good planning and customer relationship skills.
Effective presentation skills.
Exposure to or basic knowledge of laboratory and/or process control systems.
Ability to travel nationally and internationally, with flexibility for up to 75% travel.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Basic knowledge of software for digital platforms used in industry (e.g., Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HubSpot.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Life Sciences) from a regionally accredited, not-for-profit institution, or a bachelor's degree plus a technical/engineering background/AA degree in an engineering or technical field required.
Minimum three years of technical experience in the process analytics market required.
Experience with programming or operating automated laboratory scientific equipment preferred.
Experience with programming languages and computer knowledge preferred.
