We are seeking a school leader with a strong strategic focus on leading school wide initiatives for inclusive student learning and multi-tiered systems of support. The school leader will join an experienced and innovative leadership team to continue the strategic priorities to improve student outcomes. The School Leader C position will be responsible for leading Teaching and Learning and promoting positive student engagement with a focus on: Faculty leadership – English Curriculum design, coordination and review Exploring innovative curriculum design aligned with Strong Foundations Coaching and mentoring The successful applicants’ key responsibilities will be to: Lead the English faculty and Literacy teams. Continue to grow tiered supports and interventions for literacy, with an emphasis on building staff abilities to make data-informed decisions. Lead the direction of the English programs, including curriculum, assessment, and reporting, setting goals and benchmarks to ensure the programs evolve and meet student needs. Be a highly visible leader with responsibility to lead staff to drive improvement in evidence-based practice that builds high expectations for all students. Lead projects tied to the Strong Foundations. Engage parents, stakeholders, and the broader school community by developing, valuing and enriching positive relationships and connections. Contribute to the development and realisation of school improvement priorities, strategies and actions. Contribute to the continued growth of a positive school learning culture. Eligibility/Other requirements: A minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification. Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) or eligibility to obtain TQI. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au) Extensive experience and success teaching students needing support in a High School environment (desirable) Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
