About the Role Develop innovative and creative opportunities to increase the engagement of carers and families on the acute inpatient wards, thereby improving the outcomes for consumers, carers, families, staff and community. Serve as a positive role model to carers, families and staff and a source of information and education from a lived/living experience perspective Provide direct peer support to carers and families, building their capacity for the caring role, by engaging in individual and group peer support, advocacy and education activities. Co-facilitate relevant support groups, deliver skills training and evaluate carer-specific programs Actively identify areas of improvement to the service and the inpatient environment by advocating for a carer and family sensitive and inclusive culture in all service practices, procedures and frameworks.
