We’re looking for a hands-on Chapter Lead to grow and guide our engineering capability across the Deceased Estates and Authorities journeys. See yourself in our team: As a Chapter Lead in the Everyday Banking Domain, you’ll lead a community of engineers supporting the E2E Service Journey crew—specifically focused on Deceased Estates and Authorities. These journeys are deeply personal and operationally complex, requiring thoughtful design, robust systems, and seamless orchestration across channels and teams. You’ll play a key role in shaping the engineering culture, driving DevSecOps maturity, and embedding full-cycle engineering practices across squads. You’ll also lead the evolution of our workflow platforms—particularly PEGA—to ensure we deliver resilient, compliant, and compassionate customer experiences. What you’ll do: Lead the Chapter : Coach and mentor engineers across squads, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in psychological safety, inclusion, and continuous learning. Be Technically Hands-On : Contribute to architecture, design, and development of workflow-based solutions. Lead by example in coding, reviewing, and deploying high-quality software. Champion Workflow Engineering : Drive best practices in workflow design, orchestration, and automation—especially using PEGA and related tooling. Advance Engineering Maturity : Embed full-cycle engineering, DevSecOps, and test automation practices. Set the standard for engineering excellence. Shape Technical Direction : Collaborate with product and platform leads to influence architecture, design patterns, and tooling strategies—especially in workflow and case management domains. Grow Capability : Identify skill gaps, lead hiring efforts, and support career development pathways for engineers in your chapter. Foster Collaboration : Build strong relationships across squads, domains, and business units to align on shared goals and deliver value at scale. Embed Risk Mindset : Promote secure-by-design principles and ensure compliance with cloud security, data governance, and regulatory obligations. What you bring: Proven leadership experience in engineering teams, ideally in a Chapter Lead or Principal Engineer role. Deep expertise in software engineering, with hands-on experience in workflow platforms (especially PEGA), full-stack development, and DevSecOps. Strong understanding of case management, orchestration, and automation in regulated environments. Passion for coaching, mentoring, and growing diverse engineering talent. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A growth mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement. Technical environment: You’ll be expected to work closely with engineers and contribute directly to the codebase. Familiarity and experience with the following will set you up for success: Languages & Frameworks : C#, .NET Core, REST APIs, microservices, containerization, React, Next.js Workflow & Case Management software : BPMN & workflow orchestration tools (e.g. PEGA, Appian) knowledge desirable, but not essential. Cloud & DevOps : AWS, Azure, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) Observability : Observe, Obstack Security : Identity management, encryption, and cloud security best practices Data : Relational (Postgres, Oracle), NoSQL (MongoDB), data lakes and real-time pipelines We operate in a hybrid working environment, meaning a blend between being in the office and working remote.
