Energy Transformation Policy Advisor
About the Role:
* We are seeking an experienced Energy Transformation Policy Advisor to join our team in a challenging and rewarding role.
* You will have the opportunity to shape Australia's energy future, working closely with Government, industry stakeholders and experts to develop and implement effective policies and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice on complex energy transformation policy issues, including developing and implementing policies, strategies and programs.
* Work independently, subject to limited direction, to deliver high-quality outcomes against established priorities and practices.
* Prepare draft reports, briefing papers, speeches, Ministerial correspondence and discussion papers for review by senior executives.
* Research, interpret and apply legislation, including maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation and international conventions.
* Monitor changes in the broader work environment that may impact on work objectives.
* Supervise team members performing related roles.
Eligibility:
* To be eligible for employment in the APS, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
* Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
What You Will Need:
* A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as policy, law, economics or environmental science.
* Substantial experience in energy policy development, analysis and implementation, preferably in a government agency or industry organization.
* Strong understanding of energy transformation policy issues, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare high-quality reports, briefings and other documents.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
