Education Officer Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Education Officer to lead our Victorian and Australian Curriculum-aligned education programs. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in bringing the gold rush story to life for tens of thousands of students annually.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Costumed Character Representation: You will embody the strict, all-knowing embodiment of 1850's Victorian 'Ma'am' or 'Sir' when costumed, engaging with students and staff in a professional and respectful manner.
* Museum Space Preparation: You will prepare museum spaces for school program delivery, ensuring that they are safe, accessible, and conducive to learning.
* Program Delivery: You will deliver two Costumed School programs weekly, becoming living exhibits in the Museum and providing an immersive learning experience for students.
* Data Collection and Analysis: You will collect, analyze, and respond to visiting primary school survey data, using this information to inform program development and improvement.
* Resource Development: You will design teaching and learning resources to support the program experience, aligning with the Victorian and Australian Curricula.
The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is dedicated to preserving and protecting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush. We care for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and are committed to delivering high-quality educational programs that inspire and engage learners.
