The Role
Your role will involve detailed design work, drafting, FEA and project management/establishment including handovers to the operations team. We hold high value in your work ethic and any relevant industry experience. We understand that our products are unique to the Australian Market, so we are willing to train the right person on the industry specific elements, but we need someone who is strong in design and drafting skill sets.
You will get to be involved in some great projects, rig equipment, new technology designs, SMP contracts. The business is currently operating Solidworks for engineering design and drafting, with Greentree ERP as our costing and management software. We offer a flexible and challenging work environment with a team focus on achieving goals together.
Position Requirements
* Provide designs that are sound, safe for use and suitable for our manufacturing facility.
* General 3D modelling and 2D drafting of drawings, using Solidworks, while ensuring work complies with relevant standards and legislation.
* Perform engineering calculations and Finite Element Analysis to validate designs.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of our products.
* Ensuring on-time completion of assigned work tasks and performing suitable overtime when needed.
* Collaborating with peers, production personnel and other departments as required.
Qualifications/Experience Required
* Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* At least 5+ years of experience in a Mechanical Designing role.
·Membership of a professional institution (e.g. MIEAust) and RPEQ status in Queensland.
* Highly developed CAD and drafting skills including experience with large assemblies.
