In this role, you'll:
Join Transport for NSW's newly stood up Prioritisation and Asset Management (PAM) team where you will lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists to provide expert technical advice, governance and assurance across network interfaces, define minimum operating standards for rollingstock (RSUs), and drive strategic harmonisation of technical requirements and rolling stock acceptance processes across NSW rail networks.
This is a unique role where you will have direct accountabilty for setting technical standards on behalf of TfNSW and thereby have direct accountability for saving lives.
Working directly under the Professional Head Multi-Modal Fleet Engineering in the Chief Engineer's directorate, this role will see you exercise technical authority and lead reform across networks.

About you
You are a technically credible leader with relevant tertiary qualification, ideally in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering, coupled with extensive experience and knowledge of rollingstock and the railway.
Your demonstrated experience in senior roles, will include a strong understanding of systems integration, assurance, and lifecycle asset management principles, configuration management, verification and validation, and the application of risk-based decision-making to interface control and technical approvals.
Your strong stakeholder engagement skills will see you effectively collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including rollingstock operators, industry bodies, and regulators to achieve consistent and evidence-based outcomes.
You have a strong understanding of technical standards, regulatory obligations, and national engineering frameworks, and proven knowledge and experience in rolling stock – infrastructure engineering interfaces and performance and operations.
