Due to continued project growth, we are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our civil construction teams across Toowoomba and surrounding regional areas.
This role is suited to a skilled operator who takes pride in safe, accurate machine operation and enjoys working as part of an experienced civil construction crew.
About the Role
As an Excavator Operator at Newlands, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavators across a range of civil construction projects. Working closely with Supervisors, plumbers and other plant operators, you will deliver earthworks, trenching and final trim works in line with project specifications and programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely and efficiently operate excavators on civil construction projects
* Carry out bulk earthworks, trenching and final trim activities
* Operate excavators fitted with GPS / machine control systems
* Perform daily pre‑start inspections and routine machine maintenance
* Read and work from construction drawings, levels and specifications
* Work safely around services, plant and site crews
* Maintain high standards of safety, quality and productivity
About You
You're an experienced excavator operator with strong civil construction experience and a commitment to safe, quality work.
You will bring:
* Minimum 5 years' experience operating excavators in civil construction
* Proven experience in trenching, bulk earthworks and final trim
* Experience using GPS / machine control systems
* Relevant RII certifications for excavator operation
* White Card (required)
* Valid driver's licence
