* Utilise your privacy and information management expertise to provide support and advice to the Technology Solutions and Data Security branch * An Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service * VPS Grade 5: $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuation. About the Business Unit: The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria. Technology Solutions and Data Security is delivering the Data and Digital Reform Agenda, which focuses on meeting the department's data and digital needs by providing responsive and sustainable services focused on supporting departmental outcomes. Technology Solutions and Data Security explores and employs technology to enable the department's business function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded projects; and oversees the delivering of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex. The Information Privacy Unit (IPU) has overall privacy governance responsibility for the department. The role of the IPU is to create a privacy compliant culture, ensure compliance with key Victorian privacy legislation, provide subject matter expertise and support to stakeholders. About the Role: In the role of a Senior Information Privacy Adviser, some of your duties will include: Some of your duties will include: * Provide specialist privacy advice on the application of the privacy-related requirements of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) (PDPA) and related legislation to the Executive and staff of the department. * Compile complex briefings, submissions and policy papers as required, providing options for discussion and consideration, to contribute to the development of a set of final options for decision. * Prepare and review information and privacy related materials (including policies, procedures, Impact Assessments, information sheets and intranet content). About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: * Detailed knowledge and understanding of the privacy-related requirements of the PDPA processes is required * The ability to guide others to create a culture of collaboration while identifying, and working to overcome barriers to knowledge or information sharing * The ability to formulate and communicate public policy options and recommendations while developing a clear narrative for the policies and business cases including clear problem definition and objectives. Qualifications/Requirements: * Legal or other relevant qualifications in privacy or information management are desirable * Experience in utilising Microsoft applications - especially word processing, spreadsheets and email is essential * Knowledge of TRIM Context would be an advantage.
