About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Diverse Learning Support Officer position to join St Columba College. The Diverse Learning Support Officer will demonstrate a strong commitment to the College's vision of excellence in education, and will provide welcoming, professional support to students and their families and staff to facilitate adaptive student learning and provide timely and professional assistance.
Your Responsibilities
* Assist teachers with the care of students on excursions, sports days/activities and other classroom associated school/educational activities.
* Assist in student learning by creating and sourcing resources, preparing classroom materials, class displays and aids for learning programs.
* Participating in regular program planning and review meetings as required.
* Assist teachers with the implementation of learning programs such as EAL support, Literacy and Numeracy support, Gifted and Talented programs etc.
* Assist with communication between students and teachers.
* Assist with physical requirements of students.
About You
You'll need:
* Successful completion of a Certificate in Education/Education Support (or equivalent) and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role. Prior experience working in an education environment is highly desirable.
* High level interpersonal skills to interact positively with the school community and be a positive role model and professional representative.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
* Willingness to actively and positively uphold and contribute to the culture and ethos of the College.
The successful candidates will be required to undergo our screening process, which includes a Working with Children Check, E-Screen, Applicant Declaration Form and RRHAN.
