With a new contract awarded in 2024 for 6 + 2 + 2 years, now is the time to join Ventia's Fire Services. We are currently seeking a Senior Emergency Response Trainer to join our Fire and Rescue operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Design, develop, and deliver emergency response training programs, focusing on contractual requirements.
2. Develop departmental-specific curriculum guidelines aligned with national legislation, best practices, and program implementation.
3. Support the development of assessment tools to ensure proper systems, governance, and processes are in place for ongoing skills and competency maintenance.
4. Create methods and assessment tools for recognizing prior learning and their application criteria.
5. Contribute to the development of training curriculum, learning guides, and assessment procedures at state and national levels for emergency response topics.
6. Oversee the Fire Development Program and facilitate succession planning for the department's fire management needs.
7. Coordinate and deliver formal training across various locations in Australia.
8. Support Fire Crews with planning and conducting team training activities aligned with emergency scenarios and drills.
9. Assist the training team with mapping and verifying qualifications through the LMS system, including regular reporting and auditing of individual profiles.
10. Monitor and ensure compliance with operational and emergency procedures documents as required.
Skills and Experience:
1. Background in firefighting and first aid to support training and assessment requirements.
2. Evidence matrix of skills and competencies supporting firefighting background.
3. Familiarity with emergency services and operational excellence practices.
4. Experience in training and people management.
5. Experience in high-risk and diverse emergency response organizations is highly desirable.
Qualifications:

3. PUA30622 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
4. TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Diploma of Vocational Education & Training desirable)
5. PUAFIR205 Respond to aviation incident (specialist)
6. PUAFIR305 Respond to aviation incidents (general)
7. HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid or higher qualification
8. Valid Driver's License
9. Must maintain a defence baseline security clearance; applicants must be Australian citizens.
