Job Description
Farm hand for period up to 4 years Full time 38 Hours per week, with option of overtime, commencing April 2026. Required to travel between four different sites located in Bacchus Marsh. Working from Monday to Saturday. Early starts required.
* Follow your supervisors' instructions.
* Hand harvesting (using Knife) of Lettuce, herbs, rocket, beet leaves, Kale, Parsley and spinach (crops may change) to the correct specification.
* Moving Tubs of up to 8KG during the course of your work.
* Bending and lifting.
* Working as part of a team on machinery designed for harvesting and planting.
* Hand weeding and clearing of foreign objects in the fields.
Use of hand tools such as Hoes.
* Working within the packing shed, performing tasks such as washing produce, stacking tubs, tub washing, stacking boxes on to pallets
* Maintain a clean and tidy workplace.
* Take reasonable care to ensure their own safety and health and that of others, and to abide by their duty of care provided for in the legislation.
* To report any injury, hazard or illness immediately, where practical to your team leader.
* Must be adaptable/flexible as there will be changes to daily activities due to weather, crop maturity and orders.
* Actively participate in ensuring that quality standards as set out in the induction are maintained.
* Correct use of personal protective clothing as issued.
* Drivers' Licence and own transport are referred.
* Previous experience with hand cutting fresh produce/farm work is desirable.
* A basic understanding of written and spoken English.
* A level of fitness that allows or Bending and Lifting throughout an eight-hour shift.
