**Position Overview**
**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Minimum 7 years of beekeeping experience (mandatory if no formal qualification)
- **Higher Education Qualification in Agriculture** or **Apiary Certification** preferred
- Experience in agricultural/horticultural environments with understanding of **honeybee biosecurity**:
- **Full Drivers Licence**:
- **Heavy Combination (HC) licence** (to drive trucks with a single trailer)
- **Forklift licence**:
- Strong physical stamina and comfort with outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in all aspects of honey production and apiary operations
- Perform hive maintenance, spring manipulations, and pest/disease inspections
- Harvest, extract, decant, and pour honey according to quality standards
- Identify flora sources and monitor bee health to ensure high-quality honey production
- Transport beehives across regional locations
- Support queen bee breeding and annual breeding programs
- Perform bee removals in a safe and professional manner
- Monitor, assess, and report on stock levels
- Follow all protocols for food safety, quality control, batch tracking, and dispatch
- Offload, store, and rotate stock following safety procedures
- Support bee workshops and educational farm tours when required
- Create and maintain a positive, productive work environment
**Additional Duties**
- Assist in dispatch duties and stock management
- Participate in stock take activities
- Maintain equipment and facilities related to honey production and apiary care
- Work collaboratively with other team members and report to the Manager or Owners
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
