About The Role
Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal leader to serve as Network Manager, Aboriginal Health. This key leadership position will guide and strengthen the Aboriginal Health Clinical Network, ensuring Aboriginal voices, values, and cultural governance are embedded across our health services. The role works closely with Aboriginal clinicians, community representatives and partners in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) to co‐design culturally safe, community‐led care grounded in connection to Country. You will help drive implementation of the NSW Aboriginal Health Plan 2024‐2034 and Closing the Gap reforms, ensuring these commitments translate into real outcomes for Aboriginal people across our District.

You are a proud Aboriginal leader with a strong commitment to improving health outcomes for our people. You bring cultural knowledge, integrity and a collaborative spirit, and you can build relationships with community, clinicians and leadership teams. You understand how to bring Aboriginal voices into decision‐making rooms and have experience leading or supporting Aboriginal health programs or services.
What You'll Do

* Turn strategy into meaningful action that delivers outcomes for community.
* Provide cultural and strategic leadership to the Aboriginal Health Clinical Network.
* Strengthen partnerships with ACCHOs, Elders, communities and Aboriginal clinicians.
* Embed Aboriginal Cultural Governance in clinical and operational decision‐making.
* Support co‐design and evaluation of culturally responsive models of care.
* Represent HNELHD in statewide Aboriginal health networks and forums.
