Job Description
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Aboriginal Cultural Training Specialist. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing and delivering cultural training programs that promote equality and diversity within the organization.
The Aboriginal Cultural Training Specialist will work closely with the Aboriginal Workforce unit and the Aboriginal Justice Group to provide education and support to staff across the department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about teaching others about their culture and improving cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the justice system.
Key Responsibilities:
* Designing and delivering cultural training programs that meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities;
* Establishing partnerships with external providers to deliver high-quality training programs;
* Developing comprehensive training programs incorporating e-learning, virtual and in-person facilitator-led training, and support documents;
* Liaising with Aboriginal communities and staff to ensure the education program meets their needs;
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and society, as well as experience working with Aboriginal communities and advisory groups. They will be able to build effective working relationships and collaborate across the department and with external stakeholders.
