About Hilton Garden Inn Busselton

The property is yet to open, it will be located 9 kilometers from Busselton Margaret River Airport and will feature ocean views across Geographe Bay and Busselton Jetty. The property will include an all-day dining restaurant serving Hilton Garden Inn's signature cooked-to-order breakfast, a bar serving shareable small plates and handcrafted cocktails and craft beers, a fitness centre, 242sqm of flexible meeting space, and onsite parking for 60 vehicles. The 112-room Hilton Garden Inn Busselton is expected to open in 2022 at this stage and will be the fourth Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Australasia.

About the role

As the pre-opening Operations Manager, you will oversee and direct all aspects of the hotel's operational departments including Front Desk, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Engineering and other relevant operating departments. Ensuring that these departments are well run by focusing on the following aspects\: Maximisation of revenues and profits, minimisation of operating costs, implementation and follow up of service standards / staff training. Ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

What will I be doing?

As the pre-opening Operations Manager you will be responsible for the effective operational management of the hotel to ensure achievement of service, quality, and profit targets. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, you will actively manage key property issues and be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

6. Assist with the development of meaningful, achievable hotel budgets and other short- and long-term hotel strategic goals.
7. Provide effective leadership to the hotel management team and team members to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
8. Respond to audits that are completed by the company to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
9. Plan, direct and coordinate the service delivery of all operational departments in order to meet and exceed guest expectations.
10. Comply with and exceed hotel and company service standards.
11. Ensure that costs are controlled throughout the operational departments and results are analysed regularly to highlight opportunities for action.
12. Manage and develop the operational team to ensure career progression and effective succession planning within the hotel and company.
13. Seek and respond to guest feedback in order to achieve positive outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction.

What are we looking for?

An Operations Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you will ideally maintain the attitude, skills, and values that follow;

14. Strong commercial acumen, preferably with experience in F&B and Housekeeping Management.
15. Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results.
16. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high level or perform and exceed targets.
17. In depth knowledge of the hotel / leisure / service sector.
18. Accountable and resilient.
19. Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
20. Ability to work under pressure.
21. Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

22. Previous experience in similar role
23. A degree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent
24. Passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
25. High level of IT proficiency
