An exciting opportunity exists within our group for a talented individual to join our National Head Office in Kedron and assist with the development of our successful dealership in the position of Group Accountant. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Group Financial Controller, the Group Accountant’s duties will be varied. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
* Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations;
* Lead and assist with annual financial audits for the group;
* Understanding, interpreting and the application of AASB standards;
* Intercompany reconciliations;
* Fixed assets registers;
* Management and BI reporting;
* Assistance with workflow automation development;
* Assistance with BAS, FBT and Income Tax return preparation;
* Preparation of general purpose financial statements;
* Company Secretarial assistance;
* Management of accounting policy;
* Accounting for head office companies;
* Sustainability reporting
The successful applicant must:
Qualifications
* Have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
* Have excellent communication skills
* Have very good knowledge of accounting and taxation principles
* Possess attention to detail
* Have the ability to manage workflow whilst adhering to deadlines
* Have a strong work ethic
* Be a team player – able to build rapport with peers and management
* Ideally, experience in a similar role within the motor industry or an accounting firm
* Accounting degree qualified and hold (or near completed) a post-graduate qualification in accounting
