MacKillop Catholic College is a Catholic Secondary College on Hobart's Eastern Shore with a strong commitment to academic excellence and pastoral care. In 2023, we introduced Grades 11 and 12, and our student numbers continue to grow as we expand our senior program into 2026. To support this growth, we are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join our English Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a thriving program and help students succeed in English, including TASC Level 3.
About the role:
English Teacher – TASC Level 3
Ongoing – Commencing 2026
Full-time (part time considered)
* Teach English across all secondary year levels, including English Level 3.
* Inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment.
* Ensure every student reaches their full potential through high-quality, collaborative, and engaging pedagogy.
* Support curriculum development and the success of our English Department.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A proven record in teaching English at a senior level.
* Ability, experience, and qualifications to teach English, including TASC Level 3, using research based best pedagogical practices.
* Excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being.
* Creating and maintaining supportive and safe learning environments.
* Ability to integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.
* Strong interpersonal skills with parents, students, and staff.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment, to plan and implement effective teaching and learning.
* A commitment to ignite a passion for learning while embodying the values, mission, and principles of Catholic Education.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
