Job Description
The role of Operations Manager is pivotal in ensuring the day-to-day activities of the City Safe staff and operation of the City Safe control room run smoothly. This position drives the development of security risk assessments, conducts security reviews, performance audits, and develops standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
This includes managing security projects, promoting a continuous improvement philosophy, and integrating security strategies into daily activities and plans. The position is also accountable for maintaining comprehensive system documentation, testing, and auditing physical and electronic security systems, including keys, intrusion detection, electronic access control, and CCTV systems.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the operation of the City Safe Control Room and monitoring staff
* Maintaining security system capabilities and comprehensive system documentation
* Developing and maintaining a security risk management framework
* Maintaining best practice in the development and implementation of security projects
* Developing systems and corporate plans, policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards
Additionally, this role involves developing key partnerships within the emergency management industry to ensure the City's systems are maintained to the highest industry standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience in:
* Development of security risk assessments and conduct of security reviews, performance audits, development of standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines
* Management of security projects and promotion of a continuous improvement philosophy
* CCTV and control room operations
* Knowledge and experience of relevant legislation, including the Privacy Act, Evidence Act, Workplace Surveillance Act, and Government Policies relating to CCTV and surveillance
It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have the following qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years management experience in a related field
* Working knowledge of the Security Industry Act and Regulations
* Working Knowledge of Legislation and legal implications pertaining to key responsibilities
* Demonstrated ability to use computer packages i.e. Microsoft Word, Power BI, and internal Databases
* Current NSW drivers license
* Current NSW Security Licence relevant to the role (periodic checks will be conducted)
It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have the following skillset:
* Excellent communication and strong, demonstrable leadership skills, with the ability to handle high-demand situations with management and key stakeholders
* Working knowledge of electronic security systems
* Demonstrated commitment to Customer Service
* Demonstrated ability to build high-performance teams
