About the opportunity:

The purpose of the Lead Business and Account Management position is to be a part of the wider Sales Team matrixed with the Engineering, Commercial, Finance, Trade Compliance and Acquisition/Sustainment Program Managers to meet Customer capability requirements. This position is to be based in Canberra or Brisbane with regular domestic travel and irregular international travel. Responsibilities will encompass current and predicted activities and include support to Tactical Communications (TCOM), Broadband Communications (BCS) and Integrated Vision Systems (IVS) product lines and services or a combination of in Australia/NZ and the South West Pacific nations. It is important this position work in close consultation with all other L3Harris business entity Business Development teams to produce a “One L3Harris Australia” solution.

The selected candidate must be a team player with an extremely versatile and positive manner, and able to work autonomously as well as part of a wider team. This role would suit a forward-thinking business orientated individual with exceptional business management, relationship management and data analysis skills. To be successful in this role, you will be proactive and be looking to deliver a superior solution in a consistent manner with good clarity of thought and ability to anticipate Customer and stakeholder behaviour. The Customer and stakeholder base is likely to be Australian Defence Force and allied nations as well as the Whole of Government environment.

This critical role reports to the Director, Sales/Account Management.

Responsibilities of the role include the following:

- Establish and maintain relationships with key military personnel and key agencies in region.
- Gather intelligence on relevant programs in region to establish requirements for L3Harris TCOM, IVS and BCS technology within region.
- Continually gain knowledge of Defence Funding, key Governmental Policies, changes and trends, providing assistance to key stakeholders (end-users, acquisition authorities, OEMs etc.) to support the successful execution of their programs.
- Provide reports and returns to Management in accordance with established process and procedure, and in accordance with Australian (and regional) compliance and governance regulation and need.
- Develop, establish & maintain teaming / strategic arrangements with other companies in region, as required.
- Assess and analyse technical application of L3Harris products and competing equipment to meet Customer’s needs.
- Provides, presents and interprets designs, applications and service information to Business Development staff and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the Director Sales/Account Management and Managing Director L3HCA in establishing and maintaining relationships with key Government and Political stakeholders.

- Exceptional management and data analysis skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous dynamic change.
- Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer skills in MS office suite.
- Tertiary Qualifications with minimum 6 years relevant defence industry experienceOR10 years previous experience working within similar position within a matrixed organisation (defence organisation will be of benefit)
- Prior experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Proven experience in managing teams, KPI’s and contractual deliverables in defence industry
- Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) – NV1
