We offer residential options, allied support services, and social inclusion programs across Tasmania for people experiencing mental ill health and/or psychosocial disability.

Position Overview
The Recovery & Independent Living Support Worker is responsible to provide a person-centred support for participant Independent Living programs. This role will assist to promote participant’s independence, choice and control and to enhance their wellbeing.
The position
- Provide practical assistance to participant while they are developing or recovering their independent living skills promoting optimal choice and control.
- Assist in the development or implementation of resident care plans or the planning, cooking or preparation of the full range of meals under limited supervision – either individually or as part of a team.
- Implement client skills and activities programmes under limited supervision – either individually or as part of a team.
- Using designated internal systems to record participants interactions, associated data, and incident/hazard reporting. Including responding to and assisting Site Leader with the incident/hazard management.
- Assist with administrative functions and adhere to administrative procedures including data collection and maintenance of participant records.
- Respond to enquiries.
- Assist with financial transactions, banking and accounting for moneys and other assistance to clients.
- Provide personal care in accordance with occupational therapy report/support plan.
- Supporting participants to achieve their goals that is aligned with their plan.
- Participating as a member of a team to improve participant experience.
- Complete daily actions as directed by the Site Leader.
- Work with Participants to access services and activities in the community.
- Work as part of a team to ensure continuity and consistency of support to participant.
- Attend internal and external meetings and staff training.
- Ensure that all participants care, and health plans are followed as directed.
- Complete case notes for all interactions.
- Comply with all Policies and Procedures.
Position Criteria
Mandatory:
Certificate of completion for the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, “Quality, Safety, and You”.
Certificate of completion for the New Worker NDIS Induction Module.
Valid and recent certificate for First Aid and CPR.
Valid and recent certificate of completion for the Assist Clients with Medication and Recognise Healthy Body Systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of mental illness and its impact on the lives of people and their families.
Demonstrated understanding of Quality and Safeguard Commission.
An understanding of wellbeing principles in mental health and a commitment to participants choice and control.
Ability to assess a situation and determine appropriate responses.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
Developing knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to the workplace.
Developed interpersonal skills.
Sound computer skills including use of the Internet and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work effectively with peers within a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a timely and efficient manner.
Ability to contribute to ongoing improvement and expansion of knowledge and skill.
An appropriate certificate relevant to the work to be undertaken.
Previous work experience in mental health, drug and alcohol, youth work or other related human services.
Understanding of Work Health Safety principles.
