Horizon Power is transforming the way energy is generated across regional and remote Western Australia. As an Electrical Specialist – Generation, you'll provide specialist engineering, asset management and operational support across thermal generation and inverter based technologies, helping ensure safe, reliable and future ready power systems aligned to our decarbonisation pathway.
What You'll Do
* Provide specialist engineering and asset management support across the full lifecycle of thermal and inverter based generation assets, including hybrid microgrids.
* Lead fault finding, troubleshooting and complex technical investigations at asset, power station and control system level.
* Support the safe operation, optimisation and integration of diesel, gas, battery, solar and wind generation assets.
* Deliver engineering oversight of commissioning and complex maintenance activities, including inspection and test planning and acceptance sign off.
* Monitor and analyse asset and system performance, developing KPIs and driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation initiatives.
What Sets You Apart
* A degree qualification in Electrical or Power Electronic Engineering, or a relevant electrical trade qualification with associate/diploma studies and substantial equivalent experience.
* Experience with generation assets and systems, including diesel or gas generation, hybrid power stations or microgrids.
* Demonstrated capability across operations, maintenance, commissioning, fault investigation and performance optimisation.
* Strong knowledge of control, protection, primary plant and secondary systems gained within power generation, large substation and/or mining infrastructure environments.
* A strong safety mindset, clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse stakeholders.
